ROAD STARS HOPE TO SMILE ALL THE WAY TO THE BANK

Johannesburg, Wednesday, 14 July 2010 - Athletics Transkei’s Mululeki Nobanda and the Central Gauteng quartet of Xolisa Tyali, Lucky Miya, Zongamela Dyubeni and Sibusiso Nzima will be involved in a race against time with money and medals at stake,  when they compete in Athletics South Africa’s SA Half Marathon Championships in Motherwell, near Port Elizabeth in the Eastern Cape on Saturday, July 24.

ASA IMPLEMENTS IAAF DECISION ON CASTER

Johannesburg, Tuesday, 06 July 2010 – Athletics South Africa will implement with immediate effect, the International Amateur Athletics Federation’s decision to allow South African world 800 metres senior champion Caster Semenya to resume competitive athletics.

MULAUDZI AND CO LOOK TO REMAIN NO 1

Johannesburg, Sunday, 11 July 2010 –World 800 metres champion Mbulaeni Mulaudzi, Commonwealth javelin gold medallist Sunette Viljoen and All-Africa hammer throw record-holder Chris Harmse are among a 42-strong SA track and field team that will look to maintain its position at the top of the continental medal standings at the 17th CAA African Championships in Nairobi, Kenya from July 28 to August 1.

INJURED CHEYNE OUT OF WORLD JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIPS

Johannesburg, Monday, 5 July 2010 African junior pole vault record holder Cheyne Rahme has withdrawn from the SA team to compete at the 13th IAAF World Junior Championships in Moncton, Canada from July 19-25 due to a niggling gracilis muscle injury to his right leg.
